This comparison is published by ChatMitra, one of the providers listed. To keep it fair, we publish our criteria, use only prices from each provider's own website (checked on 24 September 2026, with links), show where competitors beat us, and never estimate prices that aren't published. Prices change often, so check each provider's page before you buy.
There is no single best WhatsApp API provider in India. On prices checked on 24 September 2026, Interakt Starter and ChatMitra Starter were the cheapest entry points for a small business; AiSensy and Interakt bundle the widest range of SMB marketing tools; Wati and Gallabox add CRM integrations and AI features on higher tiers; and Gupshup, Twilio and Infobip suit enterprises and developers. The right choice is the lowest total cost at your volume that includes the features your team uses every day. Every provider on this list runs on the same Meta WhatsApp Business Platform and pays Meta the same per-message rates. The differences are in three places: the plan price, whether they mark up Meta’s rates, and the software around the API.
We compared nine providers that Indian businesses most often shortlist: ChatMitra, Interakt, AiSensy, Wati, Gallabox, DoubleTick, Gupshup, Twilio and Infobip. Below you’ll find our method, a dated price table, a worked monthly cost for a typical SMB, a profile of each provider and a decision guide.
Key takeaways
- Meta's India rates are the floor: ₹0.8631 per marketing message and ₹0.1150 per utility or authentication message.
- Markups vary widely. Marketing prices on providers' own pages ranged from Meta's ₹0.8631 (pass-through) to ₹1.09 per message.
- Cheapest in our SMB example (5,000 marketing + 5,000 utility a month): Interakt Starter ₹6,649 (plus taxes) and ChatMitra Starter up to ₹6,890.50.
- Enterprise and developer platforms (Gupshup, Twilio, Infobip) price in USD per message with no SMB subscription.
- From 1 Oct 2026 Meta charges service replies beyond 1,000 per number each month. Ask how your provider will bill them.
What is a WhatsApp Business Solution Provider?
A WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP) is a company that connects your business to Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform and gives you the tools to use it: onboarding, templates, a shared inbox, broadcasts, automation and integrations. Meta charges per delivered message. The provider charges for its software, as a subscription, a per-message fee, a markup on Meta’s rate, or a mix. Meta runs partner programmes for these companies, and many describe themselves as “Meta Business Partners”.
You don’t strictly need a provider, because businesses can use Meta’s Cloud API directly. But you’d have to build the inbox, broadcast tools and integrations yourself. We explain that trade-off in WhatsApp Cloud API pricing: direct vs provider.
How we evaluated WhatsApp API providers
We scored nothing we couldn’t verify. Each provider was assessed on six published criteria:
- Meta rate transparency. Does the provider pass Meta’s per-message rate through at cost, or mark it up? Is the markup published?
- Entry cost. The cheapest plan that includes WhatsApp broadcasting, in INR per month, as published.
- Total cost at SMB volume. Plan plus message charges for 5,000 marketing and 5,000 utility messages a month.
- Trial and commitment. Free plan or trial, and whether monthly billing exists or you must pay quarterly or annually.
- India fit. INR pricing, clear invoicing terms, and India-focused support.
- Scale and developer options. API access, webhooks and enterprise plans.
Sources: each provider’s own pricing page and linked rate sheets, read on 24 September 2026 from an Indian IP. Meta’s rates come from its INR rate card (effective 1 July 2026; unchanged on the 1 October 2026 card). Where a provider doesn’t publish a figure, we write “not published”.

Worked example: monthly cost for a typical Indian SMB
A business sends 5,000 marketing and 5,000 utility messages a month. The Meta charge alone is ₹4,890.50. Here’s the total on each provider’s entry plan with published INR prices (excluding any taxes a provider adds on top):
| Provider and plan | Plan / month | Messages | Total / month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interakt Starter | ₹999 | ₹5,650.00 | ₹6,649.00 |
| ChatMitra Starter | ₹0 | ₹4,890.50 + up to ₹2,000 conversation fees* | up to ₹6,890.50 |
| ChatMitra Enterprise | ₹2,499 | ₹4,890.50 | ₹7,389.50 |
| AiSensy Basic (monthly) | ₹1,500 | ₹6,175.00 | ₹7,675.00 |
| ChatMitra Pro | ₹999 | ₹4,890.50 + up to ₹1,800 fees (1,000 free credits)* | up to ₹7,689.50 |
| Interakt Growth | ₹2,799 | ₹5,540.00 | ₹8,339.00 |
| Gallabox Basic (quarterly rate) | ₹2,999 | ₹5,624.50 | ₹8,623.50 |
| DoubleTick Starter (quarterly rate) | ₹3,500 | ₹5,582.50 | ₹9,082.50 |
| Wati Growth (monthly) | ₹2,999 | ₹4,890.50 + markup (not published) | ₹7,889.50 + markup |
*ChatMitra charges ₹0.20 once per contact per 24-hour conversation, not per message. The figure assumes every message opens a new conversation (the maximum). Entry plans differ in features: for example, Interakt Starter covers one channel, AiSensy’s free plan excludes broadcasting, and Wati Growth includes 3 users. Gupshup, Twilio and Infobip are excluded because they price in USD per message without an SMB subscription.
At this volume, two things stand out. First, on published prices, Interakt’s ₹999 Starter plan is slightly cheaper than ChatMitra Starter at this volume if every message opens a new conversation. ChatMitra becomes cheaper when several messages share a conversation, or when you move to Enterprise at higher volume. Second, markups matter more as you grow. At 50,000 marketing messages a month, a ₹1.09 rate costs ₹11,345 more than Meta’s ₹0.8631.

The 9 providers, compared
1. ChatMitra: pass-through pricing with a free plan
Built in Ahmedabad for Indian businesses, ChatMitra is a Meta Business Partner platform on the official WhatsApp Cloud API.
- Pricing: Starter is free, Pro is ₹999/month (15-day free trial, 1,000 free messaging credits a month) and Enterprise is ₹2,499/month (regularly ₹2,999). Meta’s rates are passed through at cost, plus ₹0.20 per 24-hour conversation on Starter and Pro. Enterprise has no platform fee.
- Features: broadcasts with scheduling and retargeting, a shared team inbox with roles, templates, campaign analytics, contact tags and CSV/Google Sheets import. Pro adds auto-replies, an AI chatbot with your choice of LLM provider, API access and webhooks. Integrations include Shopify, WooCommerce, Razorpay and Google Sheets.
- Best for: Indian SMBs that want Meta’s rates without a markup and a low-risk start.
- Watch for: fewer native CRM integrations than the largest international platforms. Check that the ones you need exist before you commit.
2. Interakt: low entry price, commerce features
Interakt belongs to Jio Haptik.
- Pricing: Starter ₹999, Growth ₹2,799, Advanced ₹3,799 per month (+taxes), with 8% off quarterly and 20% off yearly. Per-message prices are ₹0.949–₹0.970 for marketing and ₹0.140–₹0.160 for utility, depending on plan. Enterprise advertises no template markups.
- Features: unlimited agents, catalogues and native payments (Growth and up), chatbots, and webhooks on Advanced.
- Best for: D2C and commerce brands that want catalogue and payments inside WhatsApp.
- Watch for: the utility markup (22–39%) adds up on high order-update volume. Starter covers one channel.
3. AiSensy: broad marketing toolkit, higher message rates
- Pricing: Free Forever (no broadcasting), then Basic ₹1,500, Pro ₹3,200, Premium ₹9,100 and Unlimited ₹45,000 per month, with discounts for quarterly or yearly billing. Messages cost ₹1.09 for marketing and ₹0.145 for utility or authentication.
- Features: 5 free agents on Basic, a scheduler, click tracking, segments and a CTWA ads manager. Chatbot flows (₹2,500/month) and an AI agent (₹1,350/month) are add-ons.
- Best for: marketing-led SMBs that want many campaign tools in one place.
- Watch for: AiSensy lists ₹1.09 per marketing message and describes it as Meta’s rate; Meta’s current INR rate card lists ₹0.8631, about 26% lower.
4. Wati: tiered plans with CRM integrations
- Pricing: Growth ₹2,999/month billed monthly (₹2,199 annual), Pro ₹6,499 (₹4,899 annual) and Business ₹18,499 (₹14,799 annual). There’s also a ₹999 one-time pay-as-you-go starter.
- Message charges: Wati says these “vary” and are shown after login. The rate card linked from its pricing page is dated November 2024.
- Features: a team inbox, automation triggers and AI co-pilot credits by tier, and CRM integrations (HubSpot on Pro, Salesforce on Business).
- Best for: teams that want CRM connectors (HubSpot on Pro, Salesforce on Business).
- Watch for: only 3 users on Growth, and current per-message rates aren’t published publicly.
5. Gallabox: transparent 15% markup, sales and AI focus
- Pricing: Basic ₹2,999/month quarterly (₹2,399 annual), Essential ₹6,999 (₹5,599) and Advanced ₹16,999 (₹13,599). There’s no monthly option.
- Message charges: Gallabox states that Meta’s fees appear on your invoice “with our markup”, which works out to +15% (₹0.9926 marketing, ₹0.1323 utility).
- Features: AI credits, chatbot flows and CRM integrations.
- Best for: sales teams that want AI and CRM sync and value a clearly stated markup.
- Watch for: Basic has a hard cap of 3 users and a 10K monthly broadcast contact limit.
6. DoubleTick: quick onboarding, higher authentication price
- Pricing: Starter ₹3,500/month quarterly (₹3,000 yearly) and Pro + AI ₹9,200/month quarterly (₹7,700 yearly), plus taxes.
- Message charges: ₹0.99 marketing, ₹0.1265 utility and ₹0.35 authentication.
- Features: a team inbox with 5 agents on Starter, AI agents on Pro, and onboarding “within 24 hours” (its claim).
- Best for: teams that want fast onboarding and AI agents and don’t send many OTPs.
- Watch for: there’s no free trial, and the authentication price is about three times Meta’s rate, so OTP-heavy apps should compare carefully.
7. Gupshup: enterprise-grade, pay per message
- Pricing: no self-serve subscription. Gupshup charges “a standard 0.001 USD per message fee” plus Meta’s fee at actuals, with a small extra markup on marketing. Enterprise pricing is on request.
- Best for: large enterprises and high-volume senders that prefer pure per-message pricing.
- Watch for: USD billing on self-serve; ask for a demo to check the team tools you need.
8. Twilio: developer platform, global reach
- Pricing: pay-as-you-go. Twilio’s fee is “$0.005, inbound or outbound”, plus Meta’s fee passed through.
- Best for: developers building WhatsApp into their own product alongside SMS, voice and email.
- Watch for: the fee applies to inbound messages too, and billing is in USD. Twilio is an API platform, so plan for the interface your team will use.
9. Infobip: omnichannel enterprise
- Pricing: pay-as-you-go per message (India marketing $0.016258, utility $0.001767 all-in), with custom plans via sales.
- Best for: enterprises running WhatsApp alongside SMS, RCS and other channels at global scale.
- Watch for: its pricing page still describes free service conversations in older, conversation-based wording, so confirm how it will bill after 1 October 2026.
Which WhatsApp API provider fits you?
- Small business, tight budget, mostly broadcasts: compare ChatMitra Starter, Interakt Starter and AiSensy Basic on your real volume.
- Growing D2C brand with catalogue and payments: Interakt Growth or ChatMitra Pro (Shopify, WooCommerce, Razorpay).
- Support team with several agents: ChatMitra (shared inbox with roles), Wati or Gallabox. Check seat limits.
- High volume (roughly 12,500+ conversations a month): compare plans without per-conversation fees or markups, such as ChatMitra Enterprise (₹2,499/month) or Interakt Enterprise (no template markups, price on request).
- OTP-heavy app: avoid high authentication prices. Meta’s rate is ₹0.1150, so compare against that.
- Developers or global enterprises: Twilio, Infobip, Gupshup, or Meta’s Cloud API directly.
What to ask every provider before you sign
- What is Meta’s charge and what is your charge, as separate line items?
- Do you mark up utility and authentication, not just marketing?
- How will you bill service messages after Meta’s 1 October 2026 change?
- How many agent seats, broadcasts and automations does the plan include?
- Is monthly billing available, or only quarterly or annual?
- Do you invoice in INR, and are taxes extra?
- Which integrations are native, and which need Zapier or custom work?
- Can I export my contacts and chat history if I leave?
Common mistakes when choosing a provider
- Comparing plan prices only. Message charges usually exceed the subscription.
- Accepting “Meta’s rate” without checking. Meta’s INR card says ₹0.8631 and ₹0.1150. Anything higher includes a markup.
- Ignoring utility and authentication markups. They matter most for order updates and OTPs.
- Prepaying a year before testing. Use trials and monthly plans first.
- Forgetting seat limits. A cheap plan with 3 users can cost more once you add agents.
