Best WhatsApp Marketing Software in 2026: 15 Tools Compared
Summarise this post with:

Short on time? Read this first

  • ChatMitra is our top pick for Indian businesses: broadcasts, scheduling and retargeting on a free plan, Meta's rates passed through at cost, and the lowest monthly total of the WhatsApp-first platforms we priced at 10,000 marketing messages.
  • WhatsApp marketing software comes in five types: Meta's own free tools, WhatsApp-first platforms, omnichannel inboxes, marketing suites that added WhatsApp, and developer platforms. Choose the type before the brand.
  • Every official tool sends through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and pays Meta the same per-message rate. The differences are the plan price, any markup on messages, and the marketing features around the API.
  • At 10,000 marketing messages a month in India, published prices put the monthly bill between about ₹10,600 and ₹12,900 for the WhatsApp-first platforms we priced. Markups matter as much as plan prices.
  • Prices were checked on each vendor's own site between 24 and 30 September 2026. Recheck before you buy.

    Disclosure

ChatMitra publishes this guide and puts its own product first. Every price below, ours included, comes from the vendor's own website, and the cost comparison uses the same sum for every tool, so you can check our pick yourself. Check each vendor's page before you buy, because prices change often.

The best WhatsApp marketing software is the tool that runs your campaigns on Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Platform at the lowest total cost for your volume. For most Indian businesses, that’s ChatMitra: broadcasts, scheduled campaigns and retargeting come on its free Starter plan, and Meta’s message rates pass through at cost. Other WhatsApp-first platforms include AiSensy, Interakt, Wati, Gallabox and DoubleTick. Multichannel teams look at respond.io or SleekFlow. Brands that already run email in Brevo, Klaviyo, HubSpot or Shopify can add WhatsApp there, and developers build on Twilio.

Every official tool sends through the same Meta platform and pays Meta the same rate per delivered message. So the choice isn’t about who “has WhatsApp”. It comes down to three things: what the plan costs, whether the vendor marks up Meta’s message rate, and how good the marketing tools around the API are. That means segments, scheduling, follow-ups and reporting.

This guide starts with our top pick, then sorts the other 14 tools into five types, shows what each one charges, and walks through a worked monthly bill. It ends with a checklist you can use in any free trial.

    Key takeaways

    • ChatMitra is our top pick for Indian businesses: a free plan with broadcasts, Meta's rates at cost, and the lowest total in our worked bill (₹10,631 for 10,000 marketing messages).
    • Choose the type of tool first. Brands within a type are closer to each other than the marketing pages suggest.
    • Compare the total bill: plan + Meta's rate + the vendor's markup or per-message fee. At 10,000 messages a month, the markup can outweigh the plan price.
    • Test four things in the trial: segment exclusions, opt-out handling, retargeting, and failure reasons in reports.
    • Marketing templates don't reach US numbers on any tool, so US-heavy lists need a different plan.

Prices were read from each vendor's own website between 24 and 30 September 2026. Indian vendors' prices are in rupees, before any taxes a vendor adds to its invoice. Global vendors' prices are in US dollars, except where the vendor's site showed rupees to an Indian visitor. Meta's rates are for recipients in India.

Our top pick: why ChatMitra comes first

ChatMitra is our first choice for Indian businesses that want official WhatsApp campaigns without a big fixed bill. Here’s what puts it ahead, each point checked against the vendors’ own pricing pages in September 2026:

ChatMitra advantageWhat it means for youHow others compare
Broadcasts on a free planStarter costs nothing a month and still includes broadcasts, segments, scheduling, retargeting and campaign reportsAiSensy's free plan excludes broadcasting; Interakt, Wati and Gallabox offer trials, not free plans
Meta's rates at costYou pay Meta's published rate per message, plus a flat ₹0.20 per conversation on Starter and ProAiSensy, Interakt and DoubleTick publish their own higher rates; Gallabox adds a 15% markup
Lowest total in our worked bill₹10,631 a month for 10,000 marketing messages on Starter₹12,289 to ₹12,925 on the other WhatsApp-first plans we priced
No fee at all on Enterprise₹2,499 a month removes the ₹0.20 fee, so you pay only Meta's charges, with unlimited messaging and an account managerInterakt lists "no markup" only on its Enterprise plan; Gallabox's markup applies on every plan
AI chatbot included in ProPro is ₹999 a month with the AI chatbot, keyword auto-replies, the API and webhooks, and no separate AI add-on feeAiSensy, Interakt and Wati sell their AI agents as paid add-ons
Flexible billingPro and Enterprise bill monthly, quarterly or yearly; Pro has a 15-day free trial with no cardGallabox bills quarterly or yearly only; DoubleTick's Starter is billed yearly with no free trial
Reports that explain failuresSent, delivered, read and failed for every campaign, with the error code for each failed contactVaries; test it in any trial (see the checklist below)

Every official tool pays Meta the same rate, so the gap you see in the bill is the vendor’s own pricing. That’s where ChatMitra is strongest. If you also need a visual flow builder or one inbox for Instagram and email, the type-by-type reviews below show where other tools fit.

    Try it at no cost

Start on ChatMitra's free Starter plan, send your first approved campaign, and compare the bill with your current tool. See ChatMitra's plans or estimate your monthly cost with the pricing calculator.

What WhatsApp marketing software actually does

WhatsApp marketing software sends approved marketing messages to people who agreed to hear from you, and manages everything around those messages. That means building the audience, getting templates approved, choosing when to send, following up, and measuring what happened.

Under the hood, every official tool does the same thing. It connects your business number to Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform (usually the Cloud API) and sends message templates that Meta has approved. Templates fall into categories, and Meta charges by category: marketing, utility or authentication. In India, Meta’s rate card lists ₹0.8631 per delivered marketing message. Replies inside a conversation the customer started are handled differently. From 1 October 2026, each number gets 1,000 free service messages a month, then pays the utility rate for more. Our WhatsApp Business cost per message guide explains the categories in detail.

So what separates one tool from another? The features around that pipe:

    • Audience: contact import, tags or segments, custom fields, and exclusions.
    • Consent: capturing opt-ins and respecting opt-outs, including the Stop button Meta shows on marketing messages.
    • Sending: template management, personalisation, scheduling, and pacing large sends.
    • Follow-up: retargeting people who didn’t read, didn’t click or didn’t reply.
    • Automation: welcome series, cart reminders, keyword replies and chatbots.
    • Measurement: delivered, read and failed counts, failure reasons, clicks, and ideally revenue.

There’s also a category you should skip entirely. “Bulk WhatsApp senders” that automate WhatsApp Web or a phone aren’t official. They break WhatsApp’s terms and put your number at risk of a ban. We compared both routes in official vs unofficial bulk WhatsApp senders. Every tool in this guide is either Meta’s own or sends through Meta’s platform.

How we chose and compared the tools

We started with the tools that businesses most often shortlist for WhatsApp campaigns. We kept those that send through Meta’s official platform and publish enough about pricing and features to compare fairly. For each, we read the vendor’s pricing page (monthly and yearly options separately where the page allowed) and its help centre or documentation for WhatsApp-specific terms.

ChatMitra sits at number one. It’s our product, and it’s also the tool that came out cheapest in the worked bill below, using the same published-price sum for every vendor. After it, the tools are grouped by type and not scored against each other. Scores would imply a precision we don’t have: we couldn’t measure support quality, deliverability or uptime fairly across 15 vendors. So each entry says what the tool is, what it costs, what to watch for, and who it suits. We didn’t use review sites for facts.

The 15 best WhatsApp marketing tools, reviewed

    Our top pick

    1. ChatMitra

ChatMitra is a WhatsApp-first platform built for Indian businesses, and it’s the tool we’d start most of them on. Its free Starter plan includes the parts of WhatsApp marketing that other vendors keep behind a paid plan:

    • WhatsApp broadcasts to segments built from tags, with include and exclude rules in the same campaign.
    • Scheduled campaigns, so an offer can go out at 10 am on Saturday without anyone at a desk.
    • Retargeting to the recipients of an earlier campaign by delivery status, for example everyone whose message was delivered but not read.
    • Campaign reports for sent, delivered, read and failed, with the error code for each failed contact, so you know whether to retry or remove a number.
    • Clean contact imports. A CSV import merges new tags into existing contacts instead of creating duplicates.

Pro (₹999 a month) adds the automation layer: keyword auto-replies, away and fixed replies, an AI chatbot that runs on your own model key from 18 supported providers, the API and webhooks. The AI chatbot is part of Pro, not a paid add-on. Enterprise (₹2,499 a month) removes ChatMitra’s ₹0.20 fee entirely, so you pay only Meta’s charges, and adds unlimited messaging and a dedicated account manager.

Pricing: Starter is free, Pro is ₹999 a month with a 15-day free trial and no card needed, and Enterprise is ₹2,499 a month. Pro and Enterprise bill monthly, quarterly or yearly. Meta’s rates pass through at cost; Starter and Pro add ₹0.20 per conversation, charged once per customer per 24 hours however many messages you exchange.

Why it’s our top pick: in the worked bill below, 10,000 marketing messages cost ₹10,631 a month on Starter, the lowest of the WhatsApp-first platforms we priced. At 1,000 messages the gap is wider still: ₹1,063 on ChatMitra Starter against ₹2,590 on AiSensy Basic.

Good to know: read link clicks in Meta’s template analytics, because campaign reports don’t show clicks or replies. Contacts who tap Stop are marked Opted Out; tag them and exclude the tag from new campaigns. ChatMitra bills in rupees only.

Best for: Indian SMBs, D2C brands and service businesses that want official broadcasts with segments, scheduling and retargeting at the lowest total cost, and an AI chatbot without an add-on bill.

Meta’s own tools (free to start)

    2. WhatsApp Business app

The free app is where most small businesses start, and for some it’s enough. It has two broadcast options. Broadcast lists are free, but each list holds up to 256 contacts, and a message only reaches people who have saved your number. Business broadcasts remove the saved-number condition. They’re paid per delivered message, reviewed by Meta before sending, and can take up to three hours to process. WhatsApp’s help centre says business broadcasts are “currently available in limited countries”, so check your app.

Watch out for: there’s no segmentation beyond lists and labels, no API, and limited reporting. The app runs on one phone plus linked devices, which gets crowded fast for a team.

Best for: shops and service businesses with a few hundred regular customers who save the number. Our WhatsApp Business features guide covers the app in depth, and our broadcast list guide explains why broadcast messages go missing.

    3. Meta Ads Manager (click-to-WhatsApp ads)

Click-to-WhatsApp ads run on Facebook and Instagram, and a tap opens a WhatsApp chat with your business. They aren’t a messaging tool, but they’re the fastest way to grow a WhatsApp audience with consent built in, because the customer starts the chat. Meta’s pricing page says the free entry point window that follows such an ad “may remain open for up to 7 days”, and messages inside it aren’t charged.

Watch out for: attribution. If your messaging tool doesn’t capture which ad started the chat, you’ll judge ads on Meta’s numbers alone.

Best for: any business that wants new opted-in WhatsApp contacts, used alongside whichever messaging tool you choose.

    Other WhatsApp-first platforms

Like ChatMitra, these tools connect your number to the WhatsApp Business Platform and bundle broadcasts, a team inbox, templates and automation in one rupee-priced subscription. For a deeper price comparison of Indian providers, including per-message rates for utility and authentication, see our best WhatsApp API provider in India guide.

    4. AiSensy

AiSensy is built around broadcasting and click-to-WhatsApp ads, and it’s one of the best-known names in Indian WhatsApp marketing. Chatbot flows and its AI Chat Agent are add-ons: ₹2,500 a month for flows (₹2,250 yearly) and ₹1,350 a month for the AI agent.

Pricing: a Free Forever plan without broadcasting, then Basic ₹1,500 a month, Pro ₹3,200 and Premium ₹9,100. It charges its own message rates, published as ₹1.09 per marketing message and ₹0.145 per utility message in India, above Meta’s ₹0.8631 and ₹0.1150.

Watch out for: the markup. It’s small per message but adds up at volume (see the worked example below).

Best for: marketing-led SMBs whose main job is broadcasts and ad-driven chats.

    5. Interakt

Interakt, part of Jio Haptik, pairs campaigns with commerce. It integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce, Razorpay, PayU and Stripe, and its WhatsApp AI Agents are an add-on (₹3,000 a month for 100 AI messages on Growth or Advanced). Linear chatbot flows come with Growth, and branching flows need Advanced.

Pricing: Growth ₹2,799 a month and Advanced ₹3,799, with a 14-day trial. Interakt charges its own message rates, published at ₹0.949–₹0.970 per marketing message when we checked.

Watch out for: Starter’s monthly option covers Instagram only, and only Enterprise lists “no markup” on messages.

Best for: D2C brands that sell over WhatsApp and want payment and store integrations.

    6. Wati

Wati is a mature WhatsApp platform with a drag-and-drop chatbot builder on every plan and AI features by tier: Co-pilot credits are included, and its “Astra” AI agents are a separate add-on. Chat assignment starts on Growth, and teams and auto-routing on Pro.

Pricing: Growth ₹2,999 a month (₹2,199 yearly), Pro ₹6,499 (₹4,899) and Business ₹18,499 (₹14,799). Messages are charged from a per-plan rate card, and the Shopify integration is $4.99 a month extra.

Watch out for: the pricing page shows a 7-day trial while its AI page says 14 days. Confirm which applies when you sign up.

Best for: SMB and mid-market teams that want campaigns and a capable chatbot in one tool.

    7. Gallabox

Gallabox leans towards sales. Its drag-and-drop builder is on every plan, and AI credits come by plan: 500, 2,000 or 8,000 a month, with a WhatsApp AI agent from the Essential plan. Round-robin assignment is included on every plan.

Pricing: Basic ₹2,999 a month billed quarterly (₹2,399 yearly) and Essential ₹6,999 (₹5,599). Billing is quarterly or yearly only, with a 7-day trial. Gallabox states that Meta’s fees appear “with our markup”, which was 15% in September 2026.

Watch out for: no monthly billing, and the markup on every message.

Best for: sales teams that qualify leads with AI and pass them into a CRM.

    8. DoubleTick

DoubleTick focuses on sales teams that sell in chat. Its Starter plan includes a team inbox with five agents, bulk broadcasts, catalogue sharing and broadcast analytics.

Pricing: Starter ₹3,000 a month billed yearly (₹36,000 a year) and Pro + AI ₹7,700 a month billed yearly. Its published marketing rate was ₹0.99 per message when we checked. There’s no free trial; you book a demo.

Watch out for: plan gating on marketing basics. On DoubleTick’s own comparison table, broadcast retargeting starts on Pro, and scheduled broadcasts appear only on Enterprise.

Best for: sales-led teams that want inbox discipline first and campaigns second.

    Omnichannel inboxes

These tools put WhatsApp next to Instagram, Messenger, email and other channels in one inbox. They’re priced by active contacts and suit teams whose customers don’t all live on WhatsApp.

    9. respond.io

respond.io is a Meta Business Solution Provider. Its visual Workflows and AI Agents start on Growth, and the cheaper Starter plan has neither. It also runs broadcasts across connected channels.

Pricing: Growth $199 a month ($159 yearly) and Advanced $349 ($279), sized by monthly active contacts from 1,000. There’s a 7-day trial. respond.io states “no setup fees or markups” on WhatsApp, and you top up Meta’s fees in the platform.

Watch out for: monthly active contact limits. A big broadcast counts every recipient as active.

Best for: multichannel sales and support teams outside India, or Indian teams that need several channels in one place.

    10. SleekFlow

SleekFlow’s Pro plan bundles an omnichannel inbox, broadcast campaigns with segmentation, a flow builder, AI agents, and Shopify and Google Sheets integrations.

Pricing: Pro $109 a month billed yearly ($1,308 a year) for 500 monthly active contacts and 10 users. Premium is $279 a month billed yearly. WhatsApp adds a $15 monthly number hosting fee, and messages follow SleekFlow’s rate card.

Watch out for: the rate card isn’t on the pricing page, so ask for your destination countries before you commit.

Best for: retail and e-commerce teams that want campaigns, inbox and AI agents together.

    Marketing suites that added WhatsApp

If your marketing already runs through an email platform, WhatsApp inside that platform means one customer profile, one segment builder and one journey. The trade-off is that WhatsApp is one channel among many, and the inbox for replies is often thinner than a WhatsApp-first tool’s.

    11. Brevo

Brevo is an email and SMS platform with WhatsApp campaigns and automation. On its pricing page, WhatsApp is listed as an added channel on the Professional plan, which was shown at ₹44,680 a month (₹40,212 yearly) to an Indian visitor on 30 September 2026. Messages are paid with credits bought separately.

Watch out for: the cheaper Starter and Standard plans don’t list WhatsApp, so the entry price for WhatsApp is the Professional plan.

Best for: businesses already on Brevo for email that want WhatsApp in the same automated journeys.

    12. Klaviyo

Klaviyo, the e-commerce marketing platform, supports WhatsApp campaigns and flows. Its help centre says you’re billed per delivered marketing or utility template, at dollar rates that vary by message type and country, drawn from your Mobile Messaging plan. The free plan includes $5 of mobile messages a month.

Watch out for: you need an active Mobile Messaging plan to send WhatsApp at all, and US marketing sends are blocked by Meta (more on this below).

Best for: Shopify and e-commerce brands already on Klaviyo that sell internationally.

    13. HubSpot Marketing Hub

HubSpot connects WhatsApp to its shared inbox and workflows. You need a Professional or Enterprise subscription to Marketing Hub or Service Hub. Marketing Hub Professional was shown from ₹66,697 a month, plus a required one-time onboarding fee of ₹2,50,000.

Watch out for: HubSpot’s knowledge base sets a limit of 1,000 template messages a month, shared by all your connected WhatsApp accounts. It also says that once a number is connected, messages “will no longer appear in the WhatsApp mobile app or web app”.

Best for: B2B teams already on HubSpot Professional that want WhatsApp touches inside CRM-driven workflows, at modest volume.

    14. Shopify Messaging

Shopify’s own marketing app sends email, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns to subscribers who opted in, with charges on your Shopify invoice. It’s free to install, and Shopify lists $0.024 per WhatsApp marketing message to India.

Watch out for: it’s campaigns only, with no order updates or cart flows over WhatsApp. It can’t send WhatsApp marketing to customers in the United States and some other countries, and new accounts start at 2,000 messages a day.

Best for: Shopify stores that want WhatsApp offers without another vendor. Our comparison of WhatsApp apps for Shopify covers the alternatives.

    Developer platform

    15. Twilio

Twilio suits businesses that want WhatsApp inside their own app or CRM. It handles WhatsApp account creation, business verification and template approvals, and its Studio builder handles simple flows. There’s no marketing campaign interface in the SMB sense; your developers build the segments and schedules.

Pricing: pay as you go. Twilio charges $0.005 per message, inbound or outbound, on top of Meta’s fees, plus $0.001 per failed message. There’s a free trial.

Best for: product and engineering teams with their own customer data and the capacity to build.

    Also worth knowing

    • Gupshup and Infobip are enterprise messaging platforms with WhatsApp marketing tools, mostly sold through sales teams. Our India provider comparison covers their published rates.
    • 360dialog provides WhatsApp API access for businesses and software makers that bring their own tools.
    • Customer engagement platforms such as MoEngage, CleverTap and WebEngage add WhatsApp to app and web journeys for large consumer brands. Pricing is by quote.

What you’ll really pay: a worked monthly bill

Plan prices are the easy part to compare, and often the smaller part of the bill. Take a business that sends 10,000 marketing messages a month to customers in India, one message per customer. At Meta’s rate, the messages alone cost 10,000 × ₹0.8631 = ₹8,631. Here’s what the same volume costs on the WhatsApp-first platforms that publish both a plan price and a message rate:

Tool and planPlan per monthMessages (10,000 marketing)Total per month
    ChatMitra Starter (lowest)₹0₹8,631 Meta + ₹2,000 platform fee₹10,631
    ChatMitra Enterprise₹2,499₹8,631 (no platform fee)₹11,130
    Interakt Growth₹2,799₹9,490–₹9,700₹12,289–₹12,499
    AiSensy Basic₹1,500₹10,900₹12,400
    DoubleTick Starter (yearly rate)₹3,000₹9,900₹12,900
    Gallabox Basic (quarterly rate)₹2,999₹9,926₹12,925

Assumes every message is delivered and each goes to a different customer, so each opens one ChatMitra conversation. Vendors' published rates, checked 24–30 September 2026, before any taxes a vendor adds to its own invoice. Wati isn't shown because its rate card varies by plan.

Three things stand out. First, both ChatMitra plans come in below every other plan in the table. Starter is about ₹1,650 to ₹2,300 a month cheaper than the rest, and the gap is mostly message markups, not plan prices. Second, the gap grows at lower volume: at 1,000 messages a month, ChatMitra Starter totals ₹1,063 against AiSensy Basic’s ₹2,590. At higher volume, ChatMitra Enterprise pulls ahead of Starter, because it removes the ₹0.20 fee altogether; above about 12,500 conversations a month, Enterprise is the cheaper ChatMitra plan. Third, check that the features you’ll use every week are on the plan you price, which is why the trial checklist below matters.

Run the same sum with your own volume, and include utility messages (order updates) and service replies if you’ll send them. ChatMitra’s pricing calculator does this for our plans, and the same method works for any vendor that publishes its rates.

Two Meta rules that no software can get around

Some limits come from Meta, and every tool on this list lives with them. Vendors rarely put them on the pricing page.

Marketing templates don’t reach US numbers. Meta hasn’t delivered marketing templates to WhatsApp users in the United States since 1 April 2025, on any API. Klaviyo, HubSpot, Twilio and every Indian platform are equally affected. If much of your list is in the US, use WhatsApp for utility messages and conversations customers start, and keep promotions on email or SMS.

Meta caps how many marketing messages each person receives. Under its per-user marketing limits, WhatsApp may not deliver a marketing template to someone who has received several recently, and the send fails with error 131049. Meta advises waiting at least 24 hours before trying again. This is why a campaign of 10,000 can show a few hundred failures even with a clean list. Good software shows you the error code per contact so you can retry later instead of guessing.

Meta also offers a separate Marketing Messages API with delivery optimisation and click reporting. Our MM Lite API guide explains what it adds and where it doesn’t apply. Ask each vendor whether they support it.

How to choose the right WhatsApp marketing software

Answer these questions in order. Most businesses get from 15 tools to two or three by the fourth.

    1. Where do your customers live, and do they save your number? If you have a few hundred regulars who save your number, the free app may be enough. If you need to reach people who haven’t saved it, you need business broadcasts or the API.
    2. What’s your monthly volume? Under a few thousand messages, plan price dominates. Above 10,000, the message markup does. Do the sum above with your own numbers.
    3. What else must the tool do? Broadcasts, scheduling, retargeting and an AI chatbot at the lowest cost point to ChatMitra. Commerce flows point to Interakt or a Shopify-focused tool. A chatbot points to Wati or Gallabox. Many channels point to respond.io or SleekFlow.
    4. Where does your customer data already live? If it’s in Klaviyo, HubSpot, Brevo or Shopify, WhatsApp inside that tool can beat a better WhatsApp tool that needs a sync.
    5. Who will run it every day? A marketer alone needs simple segments and schedules. A sales team needs assignment and an inbox. Developers need an API.

Features that matter, and how to test them in a trial

Every vendor claims segmentation, automation and analytics. The details decide whether a campaign goes well. Use this checklist in the first hour of any trial:

FeatureWhat good looks likeHow to test it
Official accessYour own number on Meta's WhatsApp Business PlatformCheck the number and templates appear in your own WhatsApp Manager
Segments with exclusionsInclude tag A, exclude tag B, in one campaignBuild "bought in 90 days, not opted out" and count the result
Opt-out handlingStopped contacts are easy to filter out, ideally automaticTap Stop on a test message from your own phone, then build a new campaign
SchedulingPick a date, time and time zoneSchedule a test to yourself and confirm the send time
RetargetingFollow up with "delivered, not read" or "didn't click"Create a follow-up from a finished test campaign
Failure reasonsError code per contact, exportableInclude a landline or invalid number and read the report
Clicks and revenueButton clicks per template; UTM-tagged linksTap the button on your test and find the click
Pricing clarityMeta's charge and the vendor's fee as separate linesAsk for a sample invoice

Two of these trip up most teams. Opt-out handling matters because messaging people who asked to stop is the quickest way to collect blocks, lower your quality rating and slow your messaging limits. Failure reasons matter because “failed” without a code tells you nothing. Error 131049 (a per-user limit or a US number) needs a different fix from 131026 (the number can’t receive the message).

Questions to ask every vendor before you sign

    • What will I pay per marketing, utility and service message in each country I send to? Is that Meta’s rate or yours?
    • Do you charge per contact, per active contact, per conversation or per message?
    • Which plan includes broadcasts, scheduling, retargeting and the API? Are chatbots and AI add-ons?
    • Can I keep my number and templates if I leave? (The number and WhatsApp Business account belong to your business, so the answer should be yes.)
    • Do you support coexistence, so the number stays on the WhatsApp Business app?
    • Do you capture which click-to-WhatsApp ad started each chat?
    • Do you support Meta’s Marketing Messages API?
    • Where is my data stored, and can I export contacts and chat history?

Mistakes to avoid when choosing WhatsApp marketing software

    • Comparing plan prices only. A ₹1,500 plan with a markup can cost more than a ₹3,000 plan without one once volume grows.
    • Buying for features you’ll use in year two. Start with what you’ll run in the first 90 days. Most tools let you upgrade in a click.
    • Importing every phone number you have. Message only people who agreed to hear from you. Our WhatsApp opt-in guide covers how to collect consent properly.
    • Choosing an unofficial sender because it’s free. A banned number costs more than any subscription.
    • Signing a long prepaid term before a real campaign. Test on your own traffic, even one small campaign, before you commit to a year.
    • Ignoring where replies go. A campaign creates conversations. If replies land in a tool nobody watches, you pay for the message and lose the sale.

Why we recommend starting with ChatMitra

For an Indian business that wants official WhatsApp campaigns, ChatMitra removes the two costs that usually hold teams back: a monthly subscription before you’ve sent anything, and a markup on every message once you have.

    • Start free, stay official. The Starter plan runs on Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform with your own number and templates, and includes broadcasts, segments with exclusions, scheduling, retargeting and per-contact failure codes.
    • Pay Meta’s price, not a marked-up one. Meta’s rates pass through at cost. The only addition is ₹0.20 per conversation, once per customer per 24 hours, and Enterprise removes even that.
    • Grow into automation without add-ons. At ₹999 a month, Pro adds keyword auto-replies, the AI chatbot, the API and webhooks in one price, with a 15-day free trial.
    • No long lock-in. Starter has no subscription at all, and the paid plans bill monthly, quarterly or yearly.

If your team needs a drag-and-drop flow builder, built-in A/B splits, ad attribution or one inbox for Instagram and email, compare Wati, Gallabox, respond.io or SleekFlow as well. For most teams whose main job is sending campaigns and answering replies on WhatsApp, ChatMitra is the lowest-cost way to do it on the official platform.

    Summary

    • ChatMitra is our top pick for Indian businesses: broadcasts, scheduling and retargeting on a free plan, Meta’s rates at cost, and the lowest total in our worked bill.
    • WhatsApp marketing software comes in five types. Choose the type first: Meta’s free tools, WhatsApp-first platforms, omnichannel inboxes, marketing suites or developer platforms.
    • All official tools pay Meta the same rate per delivered message. The differences are plan price, markups and the marketing features around the API.
    • In India, at 10,000 marketing messages a month, published prices put the total between ₹10,631 (ChatMitra Starter) and ₹12,925 on the WhatsApp-first platforms we priced.
    • Meta’s rules apply everywhere: no marketing templates to US numbers, and per-user limits that fail some sends with error 131049.
    • Start your shortlist with ChatMitra, add one or two tools of the type you need, run the trial checklist, and ask for a sample invoice before you sign.

    Frequently Asked Questions

For most Indian businesses, our pick is ChatMitra: its free Starter plan includes broadcasts, scheduled campaigns and retargeting, Meta's rates pass through at cost, and it had the lowest monthly total of the WhatsApp-first platforms we priced. Other WhatsApp-first options are AiSensy, Interakt, Wati, Gallabox and DoubleTick. A very small business may manage with the free WhatsApp Business app and click-to-WhatsApp ads. Multichannel teams look at respond.io or SleekFlow, brands already on an email platform can use WhatsApp inside Brevo, Klaviyo, HubSpot or Shopify Messaging, and developers use Twilio. Pick the type that fits how you work, then compare total cost at your volume.

WhatsApp marketing software is a tool that sends approved marketing messages to opted-in customers through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and helps you manage the campaign around them: importing and segmenting contacts, creating templates, scheduling sends, following up with people who didn't read or reply, and reporting on delivery and results. Most tools also include a shared inbox and some automation.

Two bills apply. The software costs from nothing (free plans from ChatMitra and AiSensy, or the WhatsApp Business app) to several thousand rupees a month for SMB platforms, and far more for marketing suites. Meta also charges per delivered marketing message, ₹0.8631 in India. Some vendors add a markup to that rate or a fee per message, so compare the total at your own volume, not the plan price.

Yes. ChatMitra's Starter plan is free and includes official broadcasts, segments, scheduling and retargeting; you pay only Meta's charges plus ₹0.20 per conversation. The WhatsApp Business app is also free, but its broadcast lists reach up to 256 contacts who have saved your number. AiSensy's Free Forever plan excludes broadcasting. Meta's per-message charges apply on every official tool.

Official tools that send through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, to customers who agreed to hear from you, are allowed. Unofficial bulk senders that automate WhatsApp Web or a phone break WhatsApp's terms and can get the number banned. If a tool doesn't mention Meta, message templates or the WhatsApp Business Platform, treat it as unofficial.

Not at the moment. Meta hasn't delivered marketing templates to WhatsApp users with US phone numbers since 1 April 2025, on any API and through any vendor. Utility messages such as order updates, and replies inside a customer-started conversation, still work.

No. You can use Meta's Cloud API directly if you have developers, or the WhatsApp Business app for small volumes. Most businesses use a software vendor because it adds campaign tools, an inbox and support. Vendors that are Meta partners can help with onboarding, but the per-message rates come from Meta either way.

ChatMitra is the lowest-cost place to start. On prices checked in September 2026, its free Starter plan was the only free plan with broadcasts among the WhatsApp-first platforms we priced, with Meta's rates at cost plus ₹0.20 per conversation. AiSensy's broadcasts start on Basic at ₹1,500 a month, with its own message rates. Interakt, Wati, Gallabox and DoubleTick add more automation or sales features at higher plan prices. Our India provider comparison has the full price table.

At minimum: official access through the WhatsApp Business Platform, contact import with tags or segments, template management, scheduled sends, retargeting by delivery or read status, opt-out handling, per-campaign reports with failure reasons, and clear pricing that shows Meta's rate apart from the vendor's fee. Automation, click tracking and store integrations are the next tier.

Often, yes. Meta's coexistence option lets a number stay on the WhatsApp Business app while a platform sends campaigns through the API. Not every vendor supports it, and some integrations, such as HubSpot's, say messages stop appearing in the WhatsApp app once connected. Ask before you connect a number your customers already know.
