How do I add a team member to my Chat Mitra account?
Go to Team Management in your Chat Mitra dashboard and click 'Add Team Member'. Enter the person's name, email, and a password. The agent account is created instantly. Share the login credentials with your team member — they log in with their own email and password, not yours.
How many team members can I add?
The Pro plan includes unlimited team members at no extra cost. There are no per-agent fees. Add 2 agents or 200 — the price stays at ₹999 per month. The Starter (free) plan also supports team members.
Can I control what each team member sees?
Yes. Chat Mitra offers project-level and section-level permissions. You choose which WhatsApp project each agent can access, then for each project you select which sections (Chat, Campaigns, Templates, Customers, Billing, etc.) and which actions (View, Edit, Create, Delete) the agent gets. A chat agent doesn't need to see campaigns. A marketing person doesn't need billing access.
What is the difference between a Vendor and an Agent?
A Vendor is the business owner — the person who signed up for Chat Mitra. They have full access to everything: billing, settings, projects, templates, and team management. An Agent is a team member created by the vendor. Agents can only access the sections and projects the vendor assigns to them. Agents can never access Billing, Projects, or Role Management — those are always restricted to the vendor.
Can an agent access multiple WhatsApp projects?
Yes. If you manage multiple WhatsApp numbers (e.g. one for sales, one for support), you can assign an agent to one or both projects. Each project has its own permission set. An agent can have full chat access on the sales project but view-only access on the support project.
What happens when I remove a team member?
When you delete an agent, their login is disabled immediately and all active sessions are invalidated. They cannot log in anymore. Their chat history, activities, and data remain in the system — nothing is lost. If you want to re-add them later, create a new agent account.
Can an agent give themselves more permissions?
No. Agents cannot access the Role Management or Settings sections. Only the vendor (business owner) can create agents, assign permissions, or modify access levels. Additionally, a vendor can only assign sections they hold themselves — so even the vendor can't grant permissions they don't have.
Do permissions update instantly?
Yes. When you change an agent's permissions and click Save, the changes take effect immediately. The agent sees the updated access on their next page load — no logout or re-login needed. If you revoke access to a section, it disappears from their sidebar instantly.
Is team management included in the free plan?
Yes, basic team management is available on the free Starter plan. The Pro plan at ₹999 per month includes unlimited team members, advanced permission controls, and all other Pro features like API access, webhooks, and auto reply.
