Meta Business Verification

Verifying your business with Meta unlocks higher messaging limits and the trust signals customers look for. There are a few paths — here's how each one works.

All guides

Meta Business Verification confirms your business is real, which unlocks higher WhatsApp messaging limits and trust badges. There are three paths: partner-led verification (PLBV), classic document-based verification, and the paid Meta Verified subscription. This section explains each and which one fits you.

Meta wants to know your business is real before it lets you message at scale. Business verification is how you prove it — and once done, your limits rise and customers see stronger trust signals.

What business verification is

Verifying your business with Meta unlocks the things growing brands need: full WhatsApp API features, advertising, billing and higher spending limits. It’s optional for some small senders, but if you want to scale on the WhatsApp Business Platform, verification is the gate you eventually have to pass.

The good news: there’s more than one way through it, and you can pick the path that fits how much paperwork you have and how fast you need it done.

The three verification paths

There are three ways to get verified. Each one suits a different kind of business.

  • Partner-led Business Verification (PLBV) — the fastest and easiest route. A Meta partner like ChatMitra reviews your details and submits your business to Meta for you. You can start it during signup, right after registering your number, or later through support.
  • Classic (Standard) Business Verification — the do-it-yourself route. You upload official documents yourself in your Meta Business Portfolio’s Security Centre, anytime.
  • Meta Verified for Business — a paid monthly subscription. It adds a verified badge and brand-protection perks across Meta’s apps. It’s optional and separate from the two checks above.

What documents Meta accepts

Whichever path you choose, Meta checks real documents. A few rules apply everywhere:

  • Documents must be official, valid, and not expired.
  • What counts as proof depends on your country. Meta lists accepted documents by region — for example India and Indonesia in APAC, the UK and UAE in EMEA, and the US and Brazil in the Americas. Other countries fall back to a general list.
  • Language matters. Your supporting documents must be in one of Meta’s supported languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, French and many more.

Example: a Mumbai retailer submits its GST certificate and incorporation document — both official, current, and in English — which clears Meta’s language and validity rules without any extra translation.

  • PLBV for WhatsApp — the partner-led, fastest path, done with ChatMitra’s help.
  • Classic Business Verification — the standard document-based flow you run yourself.
  • Meta Verified for Business — Meta’s paid subscription badge and what it includes.

Common questions

Is business verification the same as the blue badge? No. Verification confirms your Business Manager is legitimate. The green Official Business Account badge is requested separately, after you’re verified.

Can I show my display name before full verification? Yes. Since April 2024, if you meet the message-quality criteria and pass display-name review, your display name can show even before full business verification is complete.
