“Review in progress” feels like limbo, but it’s a normal, temporary step — and you can turn the wait into a head start. Here’s what’s happening.
What Meta is reviewing
It’s almost always one of two things:
| Being reviewed | Why |
|---|---|
| Display name | Meta checks it fits the naming rules |
| Business verification | Confirming your business is real |
Neither means anything is broken. Meta is just doing its checks.
Example: a new café’s display name “Brew & Co” is under review. Nothing’s wrong — Meta is simply confirming it before it goes live, and the café can still prepare in the meantime.
How long it takes
Often just minutes, sometimes up to a couple of days — verification reviews tend to be the slower ones. Submitting the same thing over and over doesn’t speed it up (and can slow it), so resist the urge.
What to do while you wait
Don't sit idle — get ready to launch:
✓ Build & submit templates (reviewed in parallel)
✓ Complete your business profile
✓ Import your opted-in contacts
✓ Plan your first messageDo these and the moment the review clears, you can send your first campaign the same hour. If the wait stretches unusually long, get support. Most reviews tie back to business verification — making sure your details match speeds everything up.
